It appears that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will only be a minor improvement.

As the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 draws closer, leaks revealing important details—like a larger battery capacity—have begun to surface.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 was first observed by MySmartPrice and has now been discovered in the FCC database. The model numbers EB-BF741ABY and EB-BF742ABY for the dual-cell batteries that power the Galaxy Z Flip 6—which is sold under the SM-F741U—have been verified.

The PSI certification provides additional assurance that the batteries in question will have respective rated capacities of 1,000mAh and 2,790mAh, adding up to a total rated capacity of 3,790mAh. This implies that Samsung may offer a 3,900 or 4,000mAh battery with the device. To put things in perspective, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 3,700mAh advertised total rated capacity but actually has 3,591mAh.

Even though the upgrade might not seem significant, we still hope it will extend battery life, especially in conjunction with the anticipated switch to the more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will support Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, 5GHz, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, and Bluetooth, according to the FCC filing. We can infer from earlier leaked renders that the phone will look a lot like the Galaxy Z Flip 5, but with a more boxy, flat style that is evocative of the Galaxy S24 series.

The Z Flip 6's internal specifications are still unknown, but it is expected that the display sizes will be the same as those of the previous model, hopefully with a less obvious crease. It is anticipated that charging rates will remain at 25W. 

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is rumored to have a 50MP primary camera, so that may be the only significant improvement.

At an upcoming Samsung Unpacked event scheduled for July, the much-awaited Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will make their debuts.
